Radiqx Press 2024 House Fonts Package
Finally after 30 years I finally have a set of book design fonts that I am really pleased with.
This is the reason I began designing fonts in the first place. I could not find fonts that I could use to demonstrate the typography I was teaching. For example, very few fonts even offered true small caps in 1994. The same is true of small cap figures.
I couldn't even find fonts that gave me both lining and old style figures. The ligature choices were abysmal. It was the same with swashes, dingbats for bullets, numerators, denominators, and fractions.
The new OpenType font format solved all those problems. I was still working hard to learn everything I could about designing fonts, on a practical level. All the books available were a heavy dose of academic obfuscation. I complained about the problems enough in my digital publishing coursework that students began asking for me to write book about the problems.
I did that in the summer of 2009. It turned out to be the best-selling book I ever wrote. I did several editions to update it to current software upgrades, and finally released Practical Font Design with FontLab 5 in 2017.
I put together a specimen book for the new package.
So, I am going sell this package of 33 fonts at a special low price to make them available to my readers. In addition, though I published this little book, the quality is best seen on a good monitor that can show the PDF at full size. So, I am including a special downloadable PDF in the package. I'm selling the font package at $77 for 33 fonts, or $2.33 per font.
You'll get a Zipped Folder holding the 33 .otf fonts, plus the specimen book PDF. These fonts are designed to be used in InDesign. But Quark and Publish can handle it. Probably not your word processor.
